Ok, I managed to find the problem preventing the game (both games) from launching. So if your "binkw32.dll" is missing, then I suggest you reinstall the game using GOG's installer. I also tested the installer for the KOTOR games and can also confirm that "binkw32.dll" is installed by the KOTOR 2 installer from GOG itself. However, I did check the download and my copy and can confirm that all of the files are intact. So the next thing I will try is to backdate my installation to the older version I previously used when playing by uninstalling and reinstalling using the older version installer I have backed up. It does seem that GOG updated the KOTOR installation after I uploaded the patch.
KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC II LEGACY VS PATCH
So I have no way of testing the patch at the moment. They worked fine last year, but for some reason when I try to launch them they just sit there in the processes list and don't do anything. Neither KOTOR 1 nor 2 will launch at all. Someone else did, I just re-uploaded it when requested because the original poster pulled it because another poster spooked him with a lie.ĮDIT: OK, I don't know what's going on, but it seems I can't even launch KOTOR 2 anymore. Possibly an antivirus automatically deleting files without notifying you (some AV's have reportedly been a little twitchy with false positives), but I'll do some checks just to make sure my google drive isn't playing any funny games with my files. My gut instinct is the problem is on your end. bink dll files are missing Well, many people have downloaded and installed this without issue and I've used this myself when I was playing. Then add the flashpoints, heroics, and ops, that you can do with friends as well as pvp, and you're essentially going to have WAY too much to do that will keep you going for at least a month before you experience about half the content fully.Strat91: this doesnt work. After you're done with the storyline in both, there's kotor which has nothing afterwards, while swtor has another 4 storylines to playthrough before the next true expansion which in turn adds yet another 3 storylines, and that in turn leads to yet 3 more storylines to go through. The combat with either is okay, where kotor's only real saving grace is a little more customization due to not being bound to one type of weapon. Swtor on the other hand is 8 different games in 1 where each 1 class story is double the length of kotor and has 4 ways to play each class story. After that, it's not really worth it since you've experienced it both ways and the only difference after is companion dialogue during the missions, and you could look those up on youtube to find out what you missed. Kotor is definitely a game worth playing twice to get the ls/ds storyline which can change how your companions react and what the npcs doe. Imo LucasArts really hit their stride in the 90s and besides a few hits here and there, not too many of their games lived up to their glory days. Then there’s forgettable games like Jedi Starfighter which nobody really cares about, and then there’s the garbage games like Jedi Power Battles/Obi-Wan/The Phantom Menace, any plug and play consoles, and The Force Unleashed 1&2.

I mean the The Old Republic games are okay, Battlefront 2003 and LEGO Star Wars TCS are undeniable classics, but then you have games like Battlefrand Racer Revenge, both of which are sequels that improve many things but lose the magic that made the originals great. The 2000s is when the games slowly started losing their sheen though. Shadows of the Empire is great too, some people have trouble with the platforming but honestly it’s still in the upper echelon of N64 platformers imo. The Super Star Wars games are absolutely stellar 16 bit staples, and the cartridges aren’t expensive at all. TIE Fighter is a nearly perfect flight sim on top of being a great Star Wars game. Definitely check out the first two Dark Forces games (I never played the third or fourth but I’ve heard they’re great too).

Ooooh if we’re recommending games, I personally find Galactic Battlegrounds to be that special kind of addicting.
